IMPORTANT:

**In addition to the tour price, you must purchase a tourist ticket. A full tourist ticket costs S/.130 or S/.70 for students with a valid ISIC card. The full tourist ticket is valid for 10 days and allows entrance to the majority of the Inca sites around Cusco and the Sacred Valley.

** If you would like to book your ticket to climb the Waynapicchu mountain, then it has an extra cost of US$ 65.00 per person (adults), US$ 40 USD (students)

Itinerary

FIRST DAY:

You will be picked up from your hostel at the reception between 07.30 a.m and 08:00 a.m.

PISAC MARKET:

Pisac is famous for its Andean market where you can buy all kind of souvenirs for good prices, it is totally recommended to try the “Empanadas” (meat pies) with cheese with basil bites on it or the chicken option! Also don’t miss the artisanal factories where the artists work the silver.

PISAC RUINS:

After a trip to the market, we’ll visit the impressive ruins that formed an ancient citadel and an important agricultural center of special note is the “Intihuatana” or Inca sundial.

OLLANTAYTAMBO:

This is almost the last ancient town alive in our society surrounded by different “Apus” (gods) who protect the amazing complex of Inca terraces used for religious and agricultural purposes.
Don’t miss the Temple of the Sun and the Ñusta bath.

From here, you will have to be 30 minutes before catching your train to “Aguas Calientes” at 07:00 p.m (Train times are subject to change, depending on availability) The train trip is just under two hours and once you arrive, there will be someone from the “Intiquilla” hostel to pick you up and bring you where you will spend the night. Your tour guide from the “Peter Group” will meet you up at your hostel to brief you about the tour in Machu Picchu.

SECOND DAY:

Starting your ascent to Machu Picchu to arrive in time for sunrise (1 hour and 30 minutes), the bus is optional, 12,50 USD each way; first bus departs at 05:30 a.m).
If you have purchased a pass for Wayna Picchu in advance, you will have the opportunity to climb the mountain (climbing time will be determined in advance depending on availability).
There will be a two-hour guided tour of Machu Picchu following which you will have rest in the afternoon to explore Machu Picchu. You need to return to “Aguas Calientes” at least 30 minutes prior to your train departure at 21:50 hrs. There will be a transport called “Mara Tours” waiting for you in Ollantaytambo with your name on a list (check the sticker on your ticket envelope) to bring you back to Cusco, dropping you off at “Regocijo Square”.
If you prefer to return in the 18:20 hrs train (arriving to Cusco at 22:30 hrs) it is an additional US$ 10.

We recommend that you take

  • Tennis shoes or trainers
  • Long trousers, sweater and a rain jacket just in case
  • Long-sleeved T-Shirt, lightweight clothes for sunny days in Machu Picchu (the sand flies will eat you alive otherwise)

  • Camera with charger (can be recharged in the hostel).
