Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco – Santa Maria Santa Teresa
We will pick you up from your hotel between 07:45 and 08:00 a.m Then, you will be driven through the stunning Sacred Valley and dropped off at the 3,200 meters high of “Abra Malaga”. Here, you will change the biking kit provided (gloves and helmet) and receive a 20-minute briefing by your tour guide. Then, the fun starts… freewheeling down quiet but challenging roads, past changing landscapes, while the jungle’s edge rears up to the small but charming town of Santa Maria, we’ll traverse the pass by bike toward huamanmarca (3 hours. After the bike ride, we’ll take a mini-bus to of Santa Maria –Santa Teresa. In Santa Teresa, you can enjoy the hot springs (Lunch, Dinner, Hostal.
Ask for the optional rafting tour that will take two hours to do it (level of rapids depends of the season) 35 extra dollars.
Day 2: Santa Teresa- Aguas Calientes
Breakfast
Before the hike, you’ll have the option to do zip-lining (not included.) We’ll hike for about 3 hours on an unpaved trail to a hydroelectric plant, where we’ll have lunch. Following lunch, we’ll continue for another 3 hours along railroad tracks, observing the flora and fauna of the area. The Machu Picchu site can be seen in the distance. We will finish hiking and arrive at Aguas Calientes around 5pm. That night, we’ll stay in a hostel with private bathrooms and hot water. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Hostel.)

Day 3: Machu Picchu-Cusco
At 4:20am we’ll begin our walk to Machu Picchu to arrive at 6 a.m. which with a bit of luck will coincide with a beautiful sunrise! Your guide will leave no stones unturned but feel free to challenge their knowledge of Inca history in your 2 hours tour. Afterwards you have free time to dally with the llamas and show off your photographic skills. Those who still have the will can tackle Huayna Picchu we recommend book it in advance.
Then we’ll have two-hour guided tour of the ruins followed by some free time to explore the ruins or climb Huayna Picchu.
There are a frequent bus service can be taken by visitors to back to Aguas Calientes, Usually US$ 12,50/person where you will catch the train back to Ollantaytambo (times subject to Peru Rail availability) and 2 hour bus ride back to Cusco.
If you would like to book your ticket to climb the Huayna Picchu mountain might be on the second group, otherwise you will miss the 2 hours tour in Machu Picchu.
