  • Day 1: Arequipa – Chivay
  • Day 2: Chivay – “Cruz Del Condor” – Arequipa

 

Itinerary

Day 1: Arequipa – Chivay

We start Colca Tour 2 days and 1 night from Arequipa at 08:30 a.m.; we’ll pick you up from your hotel with our private transport. After 2 hours driving, we’ll cross the National Reserve of Vicuñas (“Salinas and Aguada Blanca”). Then, we’ll stop at Patahuasi where we could enjoy the “Misti Volcano”. Here, we’ll drink a coca tea (“Mate de Coca”) to avoid altitude sickness, in this stop there is a market of local handicrafts, then we’ll continue in our minibus. We’ll arrive at 4,900 masl, and from there we could appreciate the view of all the volcanoes of the area, like Misti, Chachani, and Ampato (the mountain where Mummy Juanita was found), and also we can see mountains like Sabancaya, Halka Halka, Chucura and more. We’ll continue in our transport and arrive to Chivay at 01:30 p.m (the capital of Colca/Caylloma region). Here, we’ll have lunch in a traditional restaurant, then we’ll have 30 minutes of free time in the town after that, we’ll visit the “Calera Hot Springs”, very hot and clean swimming pools, then we’ll go to our hotel in Chivay.

Day 2: Chivay – “Cruz Del Condor” – Arequipa

We’ll have breakfast at 06:00 a.m., we’ll take the way to the “Cruz del Condor” with our transport; this will take us about 2 hours driving. On the way, we’ll stop to take pictures of the villages on the other side of the canyon, like Coporaque, Ichupampa and Lari, finally we’ll arrive to “Cruz del Condor” view point. From here, we could appreciate the Colca Canyon and the impressive Condor flights, after this, we’ll return to Chivay to have lunch, visiting interesting villages like Pinchollo, Maca and other places. After having lunch, in Chivay, we’ll return to Arequipa arriving at 05:00 p.m.
